Over 5000 Free Wi-Fi locations listed

The flow of e-mails submitting new Free Wi-Fi locations has continued at a steady pace. I just noticed I haven't posted anything since The Wi-Fi-FreeSpot Directory hit 4600 locations at the end of January. That's 400 more in less than 2 months.

I guess we have Bill and Melinda Gates to thank for some of it. Many libraries have used grant monies from their Foundation to install free Wi-Fi. This must be great for residents of small rural communities without widespread access to broadband internet access.

Although the mainstream press still comes up with stories about nefarious criminal activities taking place on free open networks I'm sure their are many Free Wi-Fi users who think it's criminal to charge for Wi-Fi.
