Hospital Wi-Fi El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California is offering free Wi-Fi to patients and visitors in the hospital campus and in two off-site dialysis centers. Visitors may have to pay a nominal fee later this year but patient access will remain free. It was dialysis patients that made the first requests for Wi-Fi access. They have to spend several hours, two or three times a week getting blood cleansing treatments. Free Wi-Fi access allows them to stay connected for work related tasks or just gives them an alternative to reading or watching TV. The same goes for patients recovering from surgery or other conditions that may require an extended stay in the hospital. Tuesday, June 08, 2004
