Intercontinental Hotels Announcement They are about to announce "plans to install free high-speed Internet in the vast majority of its 2,500 hotels in the U.S. and Canada by the end of this year. The high-speed access will be free in all rooms at InterContinental's Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands, which have more than 2,200 hotels between them, or more than 300,000 rooms." Best Western Free Wi-Fi Announcement Best Western International Inc. said Friday it would begin offering free high-speed Internet access in all 2,300 of its hotels in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean by Sept. 1 ( 10-15 % have it now ). "It's the No. 1 amenity requested by virtually everyone, especially businesspeople," said Tom Higgins, CEO and president of the Phoenix-based hotel chain.
