The FCC and more spectrum for Free Wi-Fi

Boston's Newburyopen.net invited their users to contact the FCC regarding the awarding of frequencies that border the 2.4GHz band to cellular companies. This spectrum would be better utilized by providers of free wireless.

Your comments are needed. Anecdotal stories about the benefits of unlicense spectrum/wifi has had on your life will make your comments stand out.

Computerworld has a series of articles on Free Wi-Fi.

" At first glance, it might not make sense for profit-making businesses to give away, rather than charge for, wireless Internet access. But a growing number of hotels and restaurants have found that it pays to offer free Wi-Fi Internet access. This perk attracts customers and provides a real bottom-line payback for a relatively small capital investment, according to free-Wi-Fi pioneers."
